EMC 10: Application Run Error

EMC 10: Application Run Error

The Application Run Error typically occurs when the Melco EMC 10 is unable to successfully download or load the required RSA files during startup or communication with the control system.

This error is commonly related to machine configuration, communication problems, corrupted files, or hardware issues within the control system.

Restart the Machine

The first step is to power the EMC 10 off and then back on.

During startup, the machine will attempt to download the RSA files again. In many cases, a simple restart will resolve the issue.

Reconfigure the Machine

If the error returns after restarting:

  1. Follow the machine configuration procedure outlined in the EMC 10 Operation Manual.
  2. Complete the configuration process.
  3. Restart the machine and verify whether the error has been cleared.

Improper or incomplete configuration can prevent the machine from loading the required operating files.

Check Communication Connections

Inspect the data cable connecting the computer to the embroidery machine.

Verify that:

  • The cable is securely connected.
  • The cable is not damaged.
  • The connection is plugged into the correct port on the CPU PCB.

Communication problems can interrupt the transfer of RSA files and generate an Application Run Error.

Restart the Computer

If the EMC 10 is connected to a computer running EDS software:

  1. Shut down the computer normally.
  2. Wait approximately 20 seconds.
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. Launch EDS and reconnect to the machine.

Note: This step does not apply to machines using the Premier Keyboard controller.

Reload the RSA Files

If communication appears normal but the error persists, reload the RSA files and restart the system.

Corrupted or incomplete RSA files can prevent the EMC 10 from completing its startup process correctly.

Hardware Considerations

If all troubleshooting steps have been completed and the error remains, the problem may be related to the machine's CPU PCB.

At this point, further diagnosis or replacement of the CPU PCB may be required. Contact your Melco distributor or qualified service technician for additional assistance.

Summary

Most Application Run Errors are caused by:

  • Failed RSA file downloads
  • Configuration issues
  • Communication problems between the computer and machine
  • Corrupted software files
  • CPU PCB failures

Following the above troubleshooting steps will resolve the majority of Application Run Error conditions on the EMC 10.
