EMC 10: Not at Head Up Error

EMC 10: Not at Head Up Error

The Not at Head Up Error occurs when the Melco EMC 10 is unable to verify that the sewing head has reached its proper home position.

Common Causes

One of the most common causes is the needle case being out of position or off color index. If the machine cannot properly locate the selected needle position, it may generate a Not at Head Up Error.

This error can also be related to conditions that trigger a Z Time Out Error, such as mechanical obstructions or head positioning issues.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Verify that the needle case is properly positioned on Color Index.
  2. Inspect the machine for any obstruction that may prevent normal head movement.
  3. Review the troubleshooting procedures for the Z Time Out Error, as the two errors are often related.
  4. If the machine is off color index, follow the indexing procedure outlined in the EMC 10 Operation Manual.

Additional Information

Correct needle case indexing is critical for proper needle selection and head positioning. Once the machine is returned to Color Index, the error will often clear and normal operation can resume.

If the error persists after confirming proper indexing, additional inspection of the head positioning system may be required.
