EMC 10: Rack Limit Error

A Rack Limit Error occurs when the design extends beyond the available sewing field or when the machine detects that the pantograph is approaching its travel limits.

Check the Hoop Selection

Before loading and sewing a design, verify that the correct hoop size is selected in the Home Menu. An incorrect hoop selection can cause the machine to calculate the sewing field improperly and generate a Rack Limit Error.

Use the Trace Function

Running a trace before sewing can help identify potential rack limit issues. The trace function allows you to verify that the design will fit within the selected hoop and sewing field before stitching begins.

Full Height Jacket Back Hoop Considerations

When using the Full Height Jacket Back Hoop, approximately 2 inches of sewing area are lost at the bottom of the hoop toward the front of the machine due to the depth of the hoop bracket.

For maximum sewing area, select All Sewing Fields in the Home Menu. However, even with this setting, the reduced sewing area at the bottom of the hoop cannot be recovered.

Disabling Rack Limits will not provide additional sewing room because the pantograph is already operating near its physical travel limits.

Error Occurs with Smaller Hoops

If a Rack Limit Error occurs well before reaching the edge of a smaller hoop's sewing field:

1. Verify the hoop size selected in the Home Menu.
2. Confirm that the correct sewing field has been selected.
3. Reconfigure the machine according to the procedures in the EMC 10 Operator's Manual.
4. Reload and resend the design to the machine.

If the Error Persists

If the machine continues to generate a Rack Limit Error after verifying the hoop selection and reconfiguring the machine, additional diagnosis may be required. Contact your Melco distributor or qualified service technician for further assistance.

• Always select the correct hoop size before loading a design.
• Use the Trace function before sewing.
• Verify the sewing field matches the hoop being used.
• Check design dimensions before starting production.
