Do I need the OS1 Automatic Shaker Oven?

The Apparel Printer Plus can be purchased as a Standalone printer, but the OS1 is what enables xTool's automated print-to-bake workflow. With the Versatile or All-in-1 Bundle, the system can automatically move through cutting, powder application, shaking and curing after printing.

Do I still need a heat press?

Yes. The printer and OS1 create the finished DTF transfer, but a compatible heat press is still required to apply that transfer to the garment or textile.

What fabrics can I decorate?

DTF allows the Apparel Printer Plus to decorate a broad range of light and dark fabrics, including cotton, polyester, denim, canvas, spandex, nylon and many common blended materials.

How much maintenance does the printer require?

The Apparel Printer Plus automates many routine care functions including printhead cleaning, white ink circulation, humidification and wet capping. It is still professional DTF equipment and should be operated and maintained according to xTool's recommended procedures.

Can I use third-party ink or film?

xTool does not recommend third-party ink because incompatible ink can increase printhead and clogging risks. Third-party film may be usable in a manual workflow, but xTool states that third-party film should not be used with the OS1 Automatic Shaker Oven.

What is the main difference between the original Apparel Printer and Apparel Printer Plus?

The Plus retains the same core one-click DTF concept while adding improvements focused on daily reliability and easier maintenance, including smart humidity control, upgraded white ink management, wet capping and expanded mobile monitoring capabilities.
